ECHOFIGURA

2024 - ongoing

Layered figures dissolving through memory, identity, and sensory distortion.

ABOUT THE SERIES

Echofigura began as an attempt to understand the body not only as something physical, but as something deeply emotional and unstable.

The paintings move through states of emotional overstimulation, vulnerability, intimacy, and disorientation. Figures overlap, dissolve, and reappear - as if the body is constantly trying to hold itself together while simultaneously slipping apart. I am interested in moments when emotion becomes so intense that it changes how we perceive ourselves, our memories, and even our physical presence.

Rather than portraying the body as something fixed or controlled, the series approaches it as fragile, reactive, and constantly shifting. It is also shaped by my experience of living with an autoimmune condition and the strange feeling of existing in a body that can suddenly feel unfamiliar, unpredictable, or out of sync with itself.
